Is it People’s Supremacy or Maoist’s Supremacy ? If People’s Supremacy was really in the favour of ‘Aam Janta’ then why are we in pain and why do we hate this general strike. What’s the reason for us to suffer more ?
Yesterday, dairy farmers in Kavre spilled milk on the streets to protest the bandha. Around 160,000 liters of milk is wasted daily if it could not be transported to the valley. Furthermore, vegetables worth thousand of rupees are rotting due to no transportation. And the daily wage earners are getting worst hit, some of the ‘Aam Janta’ may have slept empty stomach in this chilled winter nights due to this strike.
But, the maoist still claim that their three day general strike which is in favour of People’s Supremacy has been a success. No matter this three day general strike and their upcoming protest plan may pressure the government to think about their demands, but still they are doing it in the way which most Nepalis hate.
And it may happen that, in maoist strike their rivals may include in vandalism to defame them. Organising strikes and blocking road doesn’t give a win-win situation to anyone, neither it gives a long-term solution for the problem. Though the leaders are aware of it, but why do they still motivate us to support their strikes, sometimes forcefully. Are they even thinking of us ? Or it’s just that they want to be heard or show that they are powerful !? If it’s that then they should learn that, “With great power, comes great responsibility”.
If maoist are fighting for the People’s Supremacy, can’t it be done in any other way, without hampring general public ? There may be thousands of way of getting things done, only thing is we need to choose the right path. How can we forget our Nepali proverb, “Khane mukh lai junga le chhekdeina”.
